Easy Freezer-Friendly Turkey and Cheese Pinwheel Wraps

These easy freezer-friendly turkey and cheese pinwheel wraps are quick to prepare, perfect for snacks or light meals, and freeze well without losing flavor or texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Large flour tortillas (10-inch size recommended; low-carb or gluten-free wraps work too)
  • 8 oz deli turkey slices (preferably freshly sliced, low-sodium)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 4 oz; sharp or mild cheddar)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional extras: sliced green onions, finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes, smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 4 oz softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, and 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard. Mix until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Lay one large flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. Spread 2–3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edge.
  3. Layer approximately 4 oz deli turkey slices evenly over the cheese spread. Sprinkle about ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add fresh spinach or other extras if using.
  4. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape starting from one edge. Wrap snugly in plastic wrap to hold its shape. Repeat with remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  5. Place wrapped rolls flat in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  6. Once frozen solid, unwrap the rolls and slice into 1-inch pinwheels using a sharp knife.
  7. Arrange pinwheels in a single layer in a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag, separating layers with parchment paper.
  8. To serve, remove desired pinwheels from the freezer and thaw in the fridge for 1–2 hours or enjoy slightly frozen. Alternatively, warm briefly in a microwave or toaster oven for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Notes

Microwave cream cheese for 10-15 seconds if not soft enough for easy mixing. Roll wraps tightly but gently to avoid cracking. Freeze rolls flat to make slicing easier and prevent deformation. Use a sharp or serrated knife to slice pinwheels cleanly. Store pinwheels in airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent drying out. They keep well up to 3 months in the freezer.
